You might be the next best thing to have happened to baseball after Babe Ruth. Your slam dunks might be the envy of the best NBA profesionals. But in spite of that you need to get through college and complete your education. You can utilize your sports talent to get yourself a sports scholarship which will fund your education partially or fully, which you might not have been able to afford otherwise. So why spend your money when a college is ready to buy your sports skills and offer you a degree in return? Save that money for a rainy day and use the sports scholarship for completing your education. There is only one slight problem – there are hundreds of special kids with talent in some sports or the other, and too few sports scholarships available. So you need to be as focussed as you are in your chosen sport, if you want to get that coveted scholarship. Read on to find out some things you need to do.

Start early, and make a list of potential colleges that you would want to go to. Find out which method they follow for giving sports scholarships – do they send scouts to various parts of the state or do they wait for the students to apply to them? If they can afford scouts, then you just have to wait for the scout to reach your city. But if they want applications, then you need to get your application ready on time.

Keep newspaper and video records of your successful moments. Make an ongoing list of tournaments played in, scores or records made, opponents, local reviews etc., and keep updating this after every match or game. You can embellish this with photographs of you in action.

Now you need to find out the name of the sports director or head coach at those colleges (details can easily be found out from the internet), and write a concise and earnest cover letter to them, explaining why you are keen to join their college. Do check more than once for typos and spelling errors. To this letter, attach all the records and photographs and the DVD of your match videos. Send it across much before the admissions process begins, and send a follow up letter a few weeks later as well.

If you get an interview call, you should be confident and eager. Also go prepared, so that you do not look out of touch if they ask you to play a practice game. Do well, and grab that sports scholarship!!

In the world of competition where millions of students are competing to become an engineer, doctor, lawyer etc, there are some students who are not so brilliant in studies. It doesn’t mean that those students can’t achieve anything in their career. There are many non academic careers like designing, painting, sports, music etc. Sports as a career choice is the latest trend which is seen among students. Sports require physical fitness as well as sharpness of mind so that one can achieve his targets. Some parents force their students to fulfill their own dreams of being a doctor or an engineer. But sometimes the truth is completely opposite. The students have the capability of shining in the field of sports. And if they are forcefully admitted in the career where they are not interested, it will lead to bad results. First of all, the interest of the students should be discovered. Some students are good at cricket while some are good at basketball or any other sport. Children should be given complete freedom to choose their career. After choosing the option, proper training and guidance should be provided to the child so that he excels professionally in that sport. Parents should keep on motivating the child even if he fails to qualify any tournament because if he keeps on trying, success is guaranteed. There are so many benefits of choosing sports as a career choice. Firstly, it keeps the sportsman physically fit, mentally sharp and away from many diseases. Qualifying the tournaments also rewards the players with scholarship in their studies. This can help them in continuing their job or studies along with participating in sports. Playing for one’s country gives a sense of pride to the player. It is not necessary that sports as a career means only playing a particular sport. The field also includes sports commentary, sports photography, sports reporting, etc. This helps the students to choose the career according to their personal interest. Permanent players of a team also get a fixed salary as they are working for their nation. Thus, it also gives monetary benefits to them. Players also learn some moral values like team spirit, sportsmanship and coordination and hence work with an enthusiasm to make their country proud of them. So, we can say that among all other career options, ’sports’ is an important and fruitful career for the people choosing it and giving full dedication to achieve their targets.

My Husband gets all his Juggling supplies from them. They do ship internationally. And you get the stuff fairly quickly. Never had a real problem with them.

All the online stores I look at are selling simple rubber juggling balls for upwards of $ 25 a ball, with a shipping cost of up to $ 20!. You could also go to one of the IJA festivals as they certainly sell them there. The next one is in Winston-Salem North Carolina, and it is also a great place to meet fellow jugglers.

Contact juggling is not that hard to learn the basic moves, but like juggling, it can get pretty hard when you get to the more complicated stuff.

The ball size mostly depends on how big your hands are, but generally try to stick between 2.5″ and 3.5″

I live on the east coast and I’m curious if there are any stores like a juggling/circus arts stores out there on the west coast? I’m pretty sure there are. I’m curious because I may be heading out there this summer and I’m an on and off juggler. (we don’t really have any stores like that out here…just video game stores and little kid stores with things like building blocks and tricycles)
